Verona Porta Nuova Station: South Entrance

Verona, VENETO (ITALY)

Following the expansion of the railway fleet relating the introduction of the railway High Speed on the southern front of the station, the elaborated concept design proposes the construction of an entrance on this side which, in continuity with the recently built cycle-pedestrian connection, responds to the the need to favor access to the station from a city rich in attractors (Verona fair) as well as redevelop the railway station area, transforming it into a public space in continuity with the main road axes that characterize the urban fabric.

Spaces, functions, scopes

In addition to the above, the intervention includes: Creation of an exchange node with kiss & ride and covered car sharing parking to promote sustainable mobility and streamline private vehicle traffic to reach the station; Creation of an underground preferential axis to approach by taxi and public transport to the Southern railway Station side.
