Cycle-pedestrian path of the Verona Porta Nuova Station

Cycle-pedestrian path of the Verona Porta Nuova Station

Verona, VENETO (ITALy)

The cycle and pedestrian path project has been built at the south-east entrance of the Verona Porta Nuova railway station. The work can be interpreted as a direct extension of the main routes of the urban texture towards the railway infrastructure and vice versa. The track of the cycle-pedestrian path was imagined as a three-dimensional strip that dynamically winds its way through the intervention area, breaking onto Viale Piave: an extension has been planned in elevation of what is the sediment from the actual lanes on the margins that delimit the track, as if to define a reservoir within which the distance takes place and which, varying in the section, is resolved according to the points in an always different way.
In the choice of design solutions, the aim was to carry out a quality intervention from the point of view of the inclusion in the urban context, communicative towards the city of the presence of the new work and moreover to highlight the attention of the Ferrovie dello State towards the intermodality themes.
